About Emily Elmore

Emily is a licensed clinical social worker with over fifteen years experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families.

Emily is grounded in developmental, cognitive-behavioral, and systems theories. Her approach is client-centered, solution-focused, and strengths-based. Emily uses talk therapy, motivational interviewing (MI), mindfulness, relaxation/stress reduction, and skill building strategies to assist clients to develop strengths and find the tools necessary to create a sense of self-awareness. Additionally, she is a registered yoga teacher (RYT) certified in both child and adult yoga and has trained in a trauma sensitive yoga approach, which assists clients with addressing traumatic events. In session, Emily seeks to create a warm, safe, collaborative, and supportive environment to assist clients in beginning the change process and finding resolution.

Emily received her master’s in clinical social work from the University of Chicago. She has over 15 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families with a range of developmental, health related, and psychiatric disorders. She specializes in treating: depression and anxiety disorders; eating disorders; adults coping with previous trauma or abuse; relationship issues; infertility and postpartum depression; family therapy; child and adolescent therapy; and children within the foster care system and adoption. Emily has worked in diverse environments, including outpatient treatment centers, medical hospitals, elementary and middle schools, and residential psychiatric programs.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is an opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. With individual therapy, a client can process one-on-one with a therapist in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. Individual therapy allows a person to explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.

Couples Therapy

Even the best relationships can be challenging at times. Emily Elmore, LCSW, RYT, PLLC provides a variety of relationship psychotherapy options for couples who are struggling with issues between them and who are unable to resolve them on their own in a healthy, loving, supportive and effective manner.

Family Therapy

All families experience stress and conflict; however, sometimes these challenges become difficult for a family to work through and repair. Family therapy is a type psychotherapy that can help family members improve communication and resolve conflicts that are impacting the family unit. Family therapy is an opportunity to increase peace and solidarity while respecting the needs of each individual.

Emily Elmore, LCSW, RYT, PLLC takes the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic seriously and follows all federal, state, and county level guidelines and suggestions to maintain the health and safety of its clients, staff, and the community at large. 100% of the staff at Emily Elmore, LCSW, RYT, PLLC are vaccinated. We are offering both in-person and telehealth sessions. Our telehealth sessions utilize a secure, confidential, HIPAA compliant video service.
